How to Connect PS3 to Basic TV

There are multiple ways to connect the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) to a television. Several of them are used to take advantage of the High Definition quality picture that the PS3 can produce, but this, of course, requires an HD television. If you only have a basic or standard definition television don't worry, Sony has included a Audio/Video cord with the system that will allow you to enjoy your PS3 on a basic television set.

Instructions

  Plug the flat end of the A/V cord into the "AV Multi Out" connector on the back of the PS3.

  Plug the yellow, red and white plugs on the other end of the A/V cable into the "A/V input on the back of your set by matching the colors of the plug with the colors of the inputs. Yellow is the video plug, the red plug is the right channel audio and the white plug is the left channel audio.

  Connect the power cord for the PS3 into the power input on the back of the PS3.

  Plug the other end of the power cable into an electrical wall outlet.
