How to Disable Automatic Power Off on a Wireless PS3 Controller
Your PlayStation 3, also called PS3, includes a long list of system settings allowing you to customize various aspects of your console. For instance, you can conserve the battery in your controller by enabling the automatic shutdown function. When the controller lies idle for a set period of time, anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes depending on your settings, the device automatically shuts down. This can be an annoyance, however, especially when watching TV shows or movies. Disable the feature to prevent the controller from shutting down automatically.
Instructions
1
Turn on the PS3 and press the PlayStation button on the controller to open the XMB.
2
Go to the "Settings" section.
3
Select "Power Save Settings." New options appear.
4
Select the "Controller Auto-Off" field and choose "Off."
