How to Enable Bluetooth Controllers for PlayStation 3

The Sixaxis and DualShock 3 controllers for the Sony PlayStation 3 use wireless Bluetooth technology, allowing you to operate the console without having the controller connected by a cord. However, before you can use a Bluetooth controller with the PS3, you will have to sync it with the console by connecting it with the supplied USB cable.

  Turn on your PS3 by pressing the power button on the front of the console.

  Connect the small end of the USB to the port on the top of the controller.

  Connect the large end of the cable to an open USB port on your PS3. The position and number of available USB ports on your console will vary depending on which model you have.

  Press the "PS" button on the center of the PS3 controller if it does not automatically sync with the console. One of the four number lights on the top of the console will light up to indicate the player number.
