Using a PC
Connect the smaller end of the Mini-B 5-Pin USB cable into the USB port on your controller, and then connect the larger end into an open USB port on your computer. The lights on your controller start to flash. This indicates that it's charging.
Leave the controller to fully charge. When the lights stop flashing, disconnect your controller from your computer.
Turn on your gaming console and TV, and then press and hold the PS button your controller for more than a second to view the battery power status.
Using PS3 AC Adapter
Connect one end of the USB cable that comes with the AC Adapter into the USB port on your controller, and then connect the other end to the adapter itself.
Connect the AC chord to the power port on the adapter, and then connect it to an electrical outlet. The lights on the controller start to flash. This indicates that it's charging.
Leave the controller to fully charge. When the lights stop flashing, disconnect the controller from the computer.
Turn on your gaming console and TV, and then press and hold the PS button on the controller for more than one second to view the battery power status.
