How to Clean Dust From Inside the PS3

The PlayStation 3 game system features a specially designed cooling fan that continuously operates during regular game-play sessions. This internal cooling fan circulates air through internal ducting found at the rear and side portions of the console. Dust accumulation may block the cooling ducts, causing the internal fan to work harder and reduce cooling efficiency. Periodically cleaning out the dust from inside your PS3 will promote system longevity and lessen the likelihood of internal component damage due to excessive heat.
