How to Edit a Game File for PS3

Nearly every game available for the PS3, or PlayStation 3 console utilizes the PS3's built-in game saving system. With this system, your PS3 games will automatically create game save files in a special directory on your PS3's storage drive. Once your PS3 game save file has been created, you have the ability to edit the file right from the save directory. The only editing the PS3 system allows is deleting it from your PS3.

     Turn on your PS3 and a controller and navigate to the "Game" menu. The game disc for the game in question does not have to be inserted into the disc tray.

     Select "Game Data Utility" from the Game menu and select the desired game file from the list of games.

     Press the "Triangle" button on your controller and select the "Delete" option.

   • 4

     Select "Yes" and then press the "X" button on your controller to finish the game file deletion.
