How to Deactivate a PS3 Account That You Shared Content With

The PlayStation 3 console supports up to five separate user accounts. You can share content from one PS3 console to another by adding user accounts to different systems, but once you hit the cap you will not be able to add your account to new devices unless you deactivate it on the old ones. Deactivating an account does not delete it or any of its trophies, but merely disables it until you wish to turn it back on. You can deactivate user accounts at any time.

     Turn on the PS3 system you would like to disable. You have to disable the account from the system in question.

     Sign into your PS3 account.

     Scroll to "Account Management" and select "Activate System."

     Select "PS3" and then "Game Content."

     Highlight "Deactivate" and hit the confirmation button to deactivate your account on this specific PS3 system.

     Complete these steps on every extra system that holds your user data.
