How to Hack a PS3 to Run NES Emulators

Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) emulators are applications that allow you to play games on your PlayStation 3 (PS3) console that were originally designed for Nintendo. Any type of hack or modification to the main operating system of your PS3, like the modification that allows it to work with emulators, like NES emulator, is customarily referred to in the hacking community as a softmod.       Download the NES emulator of your choice to a computer.

      Plug the USB storage drive into an available USB port on the computer. A folder for the USB drive will automatically open on the desktop.

      Drag-and-drop the NES emulator file folder into the USB drive folder, then remove the USB drive from the computer.

      Plug the USB storage drive into the USB port on the PS3, then press the menu button on your game controller to open the main menu on your television screen.

      Scroll to the XMB (XrossMediaBar) menu, then select the "Install Package Files" option by pressing the X button on the controller. The NES emulator will automatically hack into the PS3 system and install itself.
