Power on the PlayStation 3 and sign in with your user profile. Scroll to the far left of the menu bar and select "System Settings." Locate "System Update" and press the X button to ensure that your PlayStation 3 is fully up to date with the latest operating system and firmware.
Press and hold the button on the side of your Bluetooth headset in order to enter "Pairing Mode" The light around the button will pulse steadily when this mode is activated. Enter the "Settings" menu on the PlayStation 3 and scroll down to "Accessory Settings."
Select "Manage Bluetooth Devices" from the list. Select "Scan" from the menu and allow the PlayStation 3 to scan for the headset. When the headset is located it will prompt you for a pass code. This is set to "0000" by default.
Return to the XMB menu again and select "Settings" followed by "Accessory Settings." Scroll down and select "Audio Device Settings" from the list. Two sliders appear that control the earpiece volume and the microphone sensitivity. By default, they will both be set to 0, essentially turning off the headset's functionality.
Speak into the microphone and adjust the sliders until the volume is at a comfortable level -- not too quiet, but not overloaded and distorted either.
