How to Boost a PS3 Signal

Your PlayStation 3's wireless signal can be diminished by interference from the DLNA media server, which transmits data among computers, routers and other DLNA-enabled devices. Although sharing a network connection allows you to wirelessly link devices to one network, the speed of your Wi-Fi signal decreases while the PS3 is connected to the media server. In addition to disabling the DLNA connection, you can also improve your Wi-Fi signal by removing electronic devices in the surrounding area that can interfere with the signal. If your signal and speed remain weak, contact your Internet service provider (ISP) for further troubleshooting.

    • 4

Push "X" to disable the DLNA media server connection.

    • 5

Move nearby television sets, Bluetooth-enabled devices, microwaves or other devices that produce a radio frequency away from the PS3. These electronic devices decrease the wireless connection's ability to transmit data to and from your PlayStation.

Plug an Ethernet cable directly into the PS3 and the wireless router to create a direct connection. Leave the PS3 connected to the router or modem via Ethernet cable to maintain a strong connection.
