How to Activate a 2nd PS3 Controller for 'Need for Speed'

"Need for Speed" is a single and multiplayer racing game that allows you to play against the computer or challenge others to cross country races in wide variety of cities. If you're interested in a multiplayer mode and want to challenge someone, pair the second controller to your gaming system. Pairing allows your DualShock wireless controller to communicate with your PlayStation 3 gaming console so you can enjoy your game in any part of the room

  Turn on your PS3 gaming console, and load your "Need for Speed" disc into the tray if you haven't already done so. Start a new game or resume a previously saved one.

  Grab your second controller. Connect the smaller end of the USB cable into the USB port on your controller, and then connect the other end into an open USB port on your PS3 system. This automatically pairs the controller with your system.

  Press the "PS" button on the second controller, and then wait a few seconds for the system to automatically assign it a controller number. Once assigned, a red light appears on the controller next to the number assigned to it. The controller is ready for use with your game.
