How to Delete a PS3 Account to Make a New Account

Sony's PlayStation 3 is the third installment of the popular gaming system. This gaming console can play DVDs and Blu-ray discs as well as PlayStation 2 and 3 game discs. You can create as many users as you'd like on the PlayStation 3, and each can have their own icon, theme and friends lists. Each user can log in, access the PlayStation Network online and save game information as well as pictures, videos and music files.

  Press "X" on the user's icon under the "Log In" arrow icon on the main menu to log in as the user you would like to delete.

  Scroll to the user's icon and press the "triangle" button. Navigate to "Options" and select "Delete." This will delete the user in the system. All of the content downloaded by that user will also be deleted.

  Go back to the main menu to select "Create a new user" under the "Users" tab. The name can be up to 16 characters long and can be changed under the "Options" menu.
