How to Delete Game Information From a PS3

With hard drive sizes ranging from 120 GB to 320 GB, you might not expect your PlayStation 3 to run low on available memory. So, understandably, running out of storage space on your console can come as a shock. If this occurs, consider deleting old, unused data, such as game information, which consists of game saves, downloaded content and preferences. Use the game's Cross-Menu Bar to manage and remove unwanted files.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the center PlayStation button on your controller to open the XMB.

    • 2

      Scroll to the "Game" section.

    • 3

Scroll down and select "Saved Data Utility." Game information appears.

    • 4

Scroll to the game information you wish to delete, then press the "Triangle" button. Options appear.

    • 5

Choose "Delete," then confirm the deletion on the pop-up prompt.
