How to Block People on a PS3

Real life conversations do not include an "Exit" or "Block" button. Your PlayStation 3's online controls, on the other hand, do. The PlayStation Network boasts millions of subscribers, so chances are high that you will run into an unruly gamer. If a PlayStation Network user bombards you with annoying or rude messages, use the gaming console's built-in controls to block communications. Once executed, the network rejects all messages from the specified user.

     Turn on the PS3 and open the XMB by pressing the PlayStation logo button.

     Scroll all the way to the right to highlight the "Friends" section.

     Select "Message Box."

     Choose the message sent by the person who you want to block.

   • 5

     Press the triangle button.

   • 6

     Select "Add to Block List" to finish blocking the person.
