How to Put a Password on a PS3 Account

The PlayStation3 is a game console that features a variety of functions. You can use your PS3 to play games alone and with friends on the PlayStation Network, listen to music, watch videos and surf the Internet. By setting a password, you can limit who can access certain functions using the PS3. Using the password feature also allows you to enable parental controls to limit the type of material that players without access to the password can access. For example, you can limit the DVD function to play only G- or PG-rated DVDs unless the password is input.

Instructions

Choose the "Settings" icon on your PS3 home menu.

    • 5
