Direct your Web browser to a website that supplies anonymous proxies such as Alive Proxy (aliveproxy.com/fastest-proxies/) and Hide My Ass (hidemyass.com/proxy-list/); anumber of websites online offer proxies free of charge. Copy the IP address or domain server name and port number of a working proxy and paste it into a text editor.
Navigate to the "Settings" icon on the PS3's main menu. Then press the "X" button on the PS3's controller to select "Network Settings." Select "Internet Connection Settings" and then select "Yes" at the prompt. Although selecting "Yes" will temporarily disconnect your PS3 from the Internet, this step is necessary to continue the task at hand.
Choose "Custom" and select your wired or wireless connection. Select "Manual Settings," and then choose "Automatic," "Manual" or "PPPoE," depending on the type of connection you're currently using.
Press the "Right" button on the direction pad to move through the sub-menus until you arrive at the "Proxy Server" menu. Highlight and select "Use" with the "X" button. Enter the IP address or domain server name you pasted into your text editor, using the virtual keyboard on-screen. Enter the port number of the proxy, and then press the "X" button on your controller to save your settings.
Press the "X" button to test the Internet connection. Allow the test to take place until you see "Succeeded" next to all of the items listed. If the test is successful, your PS3 will be automatically connected to the Internet.
Enter any game into the PS3's Blu-Ray disc drive, and allow the game to start up. Enable the game's online features and play as normal.
