Things You'll Need
Instructions
Complete the setup for the access point. An access point is a wireless router connection that is set up using the installation software and manual for the router. If you already use a wireless Internet connection in your home, you are set. Make sure that you do not have an Ethernet cable plugged in to the PS3, since the PS3 connects to the Internet wirelessly.
Select "Settings" from the main menu, then select "Network Settings" and "Internet Connection Settings." When a confirmation screen appears asking to disconnect from the Internet, select "Yes." When you are taken to a series of screens prompting for answers one after another, select "Easy," "Wireless" and "Scan." A list of access points within range of your PS3 is displayed.
Select the access point for your personal network. Enter the encryption key for your access point. Select the security options you want enabled for your PS3. Save your settings and click "Test Connection." Confirm the connection test results. Your PS3 is now successfully connected to the Internet.
