How Can I Remove Patch 1.04 From Dragon Age?

"Dragon Age: Origins" is a role-playing game for play on the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360 gaming consoles. As with many games, Dragon Age has patches that can be installed automatically when attempting to play the game and your system is connected to the Internet. A patch is an addition to the game that is released by the developer that either adds content or fixes a bug within the game. With the PS3 version, you can delete the patch for Dragon Age. However, with the Xbox 360 version, you cannot delete the patch without deleting the information for all of your other games, as well. You must remove all associated files to "Dragon Age: Origins" on the PS3 to successfully remove the patch.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect your console from the Internet. In order to ensure that you do not reinstall the patch to Dragon Age, you must maintain the system's disconnection while you are playing the game. On the system's start menu, scroll over to "Settings" then scroll down to "Network Settings." Scroll down to "Internet Connection" and click on "Disable."

    • 2

Delete the "Dragon Age: Origins" game utility folder. On the system's start menu, which is also called the "Xross Media Bar" (XMB), scroll over to "Game" and then scroll up to "Game Utility." Find the folder for "Dragon Age: Origins" and press the "Triangle" button. Select the option to delete the folder, and then confirm by clicking on "Yes."

Delete the "Dragon Age: Origins" save files. On the XMB, scroll to the "Game" option and then scroll up to "Save Files." Highlight the "Dragon Age: Origins" save files and press the "Triangle" button. Select "Delete" and confirm by selecting "Yes." If you have multiple save files for "Dragon Age: Origins," do this process for each file.

Delete the "Dragon Age: Origins" trophies. On the XMB scroll to the "Trophies" option and find the "Dragon Age: Origins" file. Press the "Triangle" button and select "Delete," followed by selecting "Yes" to completely delete the trophies for Dragon Age.

Reinstall "Dragon Age: Origins." With the disc inserted, scroll over to the "Game" option on the XMB. Scroll to the "Dragon Age: Origins" icon and select it to begin the installation process of the game. As long as you are disconnected from the Internet, this will install the factory settings of the game, prior to any patches.
