How Do I Get Charon if I Lose Him in Fallout 3?

Charon and Dogmeat have a tendency to not be where they are supposed to be. Charon can disappear from zones you are playing in, due to glitches in the game or because you fired him. For whatever reason he has disappeared, he will reappear in one of three places. In some cases, when you leave a zone, a quick message may appear telling you where Charon has gone. If you do not pay close attention, the message will be missed.

Instructions

The Taft Tunnels

  Go back to the Citadel.

  Enter the sewage grate by the river.

  Follow the route you took to find the NPCs. You will find him in the back tunnels. If Charon disappears when you are escaping from the Purity Project, then this is the place he will return to.
The Ninth Circle

  Return to the Underworld.

  Travel to the Ninth Circle.
- 6
  Go to the same place where you found Charon. He often returns here to resume his bouncer duties.
Vault 112
- 7
  Return to Smith Casey's Garage.
- 8
  Lift the hatch and descend into Vault 112.
- 9
  Walk over to the pods. Many followers, including Charon, wait here to be re-invited to your group.
