How to Play Netflix on a PS3

A partnership between Netflix and Sony allows PlayStation 3 owners to view streaming movies from Netflix. While the original PS3 application originally required streaming discs to run Netflix, a download from the XMB menu on the console is now available. The PS3 application includes features like 1080p resolution support, 7.1 audio support and subtitle support.

      Create a Netflix account. As of 2011, the minimum fee for an account is $7.99 per month. The fee covers unlimited access to Netflix Insant Watch.

      Enable your PlayStation 3 to pick up Wi-Fi so that it can connect to the Internet. Access the PlayStation Network by creating an account or signing in.

      Click "What's New" in the "Xross Media Bar" menu.

      Locate and select the Netflix icon to commence the download and installation for the Netflix application.
