How to Beat the Split-Screen Part in MGS4

The screen splits in two when the player is attacked by Suicide Gekkos toward the end of Act 4 in "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots." You control Snake on the left side of the screen and have to battle a horde of suicidal robots. The right side of the screen shows Raiden as he fights Vamp atop Metal Gear Rex. Suicide Gekkos enter the room from the left and right side through openings high up on the wall. Players start the battle with the Rail Gun equipped. This is the best weapon to destroy the Gekkos.

Instructions

- 1
  Hold down "L1" to charge the Rail Gun as soon as you regain control of Snake. Wait until the charge meter in the lower-right corner of the screen is full.

  Aim at the head section of a Suicide Gekko and press "R1" to fire. Prioritize Gekkos that crouch and start their self-destruct sequence. Listen for the audio cue that states "Engaging self-termination procedure" to be notified of nearby Gekkos about to explode.

  Continue to destroy Gekkos in this manner until Raiden kills Vamp on the right half of the screen. This will end the battle.
