How to Get the Afrika Zebra PS3 Theme

The PlayStation 3 (PS3) Firmware Update v 3.00 for the PS3 Slim allows you to download animated themes for the PS3 desktop. The "Afrika Zebra" theme depicts animated zebras on the savannah behind the PS3 on-screen options. You can download the Afrika zebra theme for free by creating a Hong Kong PS3 store account and getting the theme from the PS3 store.

Instructions

  Turn on your PS3. Navigate to the "User" menu and select "Create New User." Enter a user name and click "OK." Select the new user name and click "OK" when asked if you would like to log in as this user.

  Navigate to the "PlayStation Network" menu. Click the "Sign up for PlayStation store" option. Highlight "Create new account" and press "X." Click "Continue" and set the country of residence to "Hong Kong." Set the "Date of Birth" to a date before 1990. Accept the terms of service. Enter an email address and password in the appropriate fields.

  Enter an online ID and click "X." Write in a name, gender and address. Click the "Confirm" button until the registration process is finished.

  Navigate to "PlayStation Store" in the "PlayStation Network" menu. Enter your user ID and password to sign in. Navigate to "Other game items" at the foot of the store page. Click "PS3 theme collection." Choose the "Hakuna Matata" theme with the zebras depicted on the icon. Click the "Download" button to download it.

  Leave the store and navigate to the "Settings" menu. Select the "Theme settings" menu and click "Theme" followed by "Afrika Theme: Zebra." Highlight the "Apply" option and press "X." The zebra theme will appear on your PS3 desktop.
