Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the PlayStation 3's HDMI port.
Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to one of the TV's HDMI ports.
Connect the PlayStation AV Multi Out connector to its corresponding port on the back of the PlayStation 3. You can use a composite or component AV Multi Out connector, as both will work the same with the AX 180.
Connect the red and white audio cables from the PlayStation AV Multi Out connector to the red and white plugs on the AX 180's RCA connection cable adapter -- the colors should match. If the colors don't match, you will reverse the left and right audio channels.
Connect the RCA adapter's green socket to the green plug connected to the AX 180's In-Line controller adapter.
Connect the In-Line controller adapter's USB connector into one of the PlayStation 3's front USB ports.
Connect the AX 180's In-Line controller adapter to the AX 180's breakaway cable.
Switch the AX 180's selector to the PS3 setting if it is not already on it.
Turn on the PlayStation 3.
Go to the "Settings" cross section on the PS3's XMB and select the "Sound Settings," "Audio Output Settings," and "Audio Input Connector" options. Press OK and the PS3 will route the audio feed to the headset.
Go to the "Settings" cross section of the PS3's XMB and select the "Accessory Settings," "Audio Device Settings," "Input Device" and "USB" device options. Press OK and the PS3 will route the microphone through the USB connection.
