How to Fix Corrupted Profiles for Modern Warfare 2 for PS

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" features a profile system that saves your progress for the single player and multiplayer game modes. Each PlayStation Network account supports a single profile and if it becomes corrupted, you can no longer use it. You can fix the corrupted profile if you had a backup of the profile on a Flash drive. However, if you did not make a backup of your profile, you cannot fix it.

Instructions

  Insert yourFlash drive into one of the PS3's universal serial bus (USB) ports. These are on the front of the console.

  Navigate to the "Game Menu."

  Navigate up to "Game Data Utility" and press "X."

  Highlight "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" and press "Triangle."

  Select "Delete" and confirm your decision. Deleting the corrupted profile is necessary because, by default, the game reads the profile stored on the console. With the profile deleted, it will pull data stored on your Flash drive instead.
