How to Play PS1 on PS3

Three Sony PlayStation 3 models released in 2006 and 2007 feature backwards compatibility. In order to play an original PlayStation game on a PS3 console, you must own one of these three models. The software on models CECHA01, CECHB01, and CECHE01 includes an internal memory card program, which allows to you create a virtual memory card. This internal memory card feature enables you to save data while playing PS1 or PS2 games. Once you create a virtual memory card, you can play PS1 games on your PS3.
