How to Make a Master Account on PSN

Sony released the first version of the PlayStation 3 in late 2006, and has released numerous versions since then. All versions of the PS3 use PlayStation Network accounts, and each console uses a master account -- normal accounts that can manage up to six sub-accounts, similar to parental and child accounts. It takes just a few moments to set up a new master account on your PS3 console.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your PlayStation 3. Go to the "Friends" menu and select "Sign Up For PlayStation Network."

    • 2

Select your country, language and birthday. Owners of master accounts must be at least 18 years old. Choose "Continue."

    • 3

Agree to the privacy policy and user agreement.

    • 4

Choose a sign-in ID and password. The ID must be a valid email address, and the password must have at least one numeric character.

    • 5

Select your security question and password. Select "Continue" to create the account.
