How to Clean Dust From the PS3 Slim

The Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) console was originally released in 2006 in what's known now as the "Fat" case. In 2009, the PS3 was re-released in a smaller case called the PS3 Slim. One of the maintenance procedures that must be kept up on with all electronics is cleaning off dust, and as would be expected this must be done with your PS3 Slim. Sony recommends a few steps to clean dust from it effectively.

Things You'll Need

Clean, dry washcloth
Vacuum cleaner with attachment

Instructions

  Disconnect all of the cables and other accessories from your PlayStation 3 Slim console and place it in a convenient location, such as a table, where you can access the entire case.

  Take a clean, dry washcloth and gently wipe the dust from the case. Do not wipe the air vents with the washcloth. If the washcloth gets too dirty take it outside and shake it or switch to a new washcloth.

  Take your vacuum cleaner and connect the hose attachment. Turn on the vacuum and carefully move the end of the hose around the air vents on your PlayStation 3 Slim console to clean the rest of the dust from inside.
