How to Use the Detonator in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for PS3

The detonator in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" is part of a two-item set -- the other item being C4, so don't mix them up. C4 is a special weapon you can choose as part of your soldier's loadout in the "Create a Class" screen. It is an extremely powerful remotely detonated explosive that can be invaluable for springing surprise attacks on an enemy. Of course, you'll have to know how to use the detonator before you can go blowing anyone up.

     Press the "Right" button on your PlayStation 3 (PS3) controller's D-pad to switch your weapon to the C4.

     Press the "R1" button to throw the C4. It will attach to the object you throw it to rather than bounce. You will automatically switch back to your primary weapon after you throw the C4.

   • 3

     Tap "Right" on your D-pad twice to remotely detonate the C4.
