How to Switch to First-Person Mode in MGS4

Success in "Metal Gear Solid 4" often depends as much on accurate shooting as it does on stealthy subterfuge. Although combat is a last resort in many of the game's missions, you will eventually need to use your weapons to take care of guards or bosses. Improve your accuracy by slipping into first-person view, which allows you to aim directly down the sights of your weapon. Although you cannot employ it as your primary camera angle, first-person mode is also useful for scanning areas for guards, examining environments for clues and taking care of unsuspecting foes from a distance.

     Hold the L1 button on your PlayStation 3 controller.

     Press the Triangle button to enter first-person mode.

   • 3

     Hold L1 for as long as you need to stay in first-person mode.

   • 4

     Release L1 to exit back to the normal third-person view.
