Open an Internet browser and navigate to a site to download a driver for your controller.
Download the driver to your computer. Open the downloaded program. Choose a location to install the program. Click "Next" to install it.
Plug the cable you got with your PS3 controller into the USB slot on your computer. You will find a rectangular USB slot on the side of a laptop and on the front of a computer tower unit. Connect the other end of the cable to the top of your PS3 controller.
Click on the "Start" button and select "All Programs." Open the program you just downloaded.
Select "Driver Manager," tick the box next to the PS3 driver and select "Load." Click "Next" to install the drivers on your computer.
Close the program and open it again. Tick the box next to "Analogue Gamepad 2." Tick the "Enable" button.
