Instructions
Go to the main screen on your PlayStation 3. When navigating through the console settings, use the "X" button or the right arrow button to make selections, and use the up and down buttons to change selections.
Select the Setting icon shaped like a briefcase, and then scroll down and select "Network Settings."
Select "Internet Connection Settings," and then select "Yes" when the console warns you that you will lose your Internet connection.
Select "Custom" as the setting method, and then select "Wireless."
Select "Scan" on the "WLAN Settings" screen, and then select the name of your wireless network from the list. If your wireless router is password-protected, select either "WEP" or "WPA-PSK/WPA-PSK2," depending on the type of password, and then enter the password. If your router doesn't require a password, select "None."
Accept the default settings on the next screens until you reach the "DNS Setting" screen.
Change the numbers next to "Primary DNS" and "Secondary DNS" to the IP addresses of a public DNS server. For example, to use the popular OpenDNS public DNS servers, change the primary address to "208.67.222.222" and the secondary address to "208.67.220.220." Use the directional buttons on the controller to change each of the four numbers in the first IP address, press the "X" button and then do the same for the second IP address.
Press the right arrow button to skip through the next screens until you get to the "Settings List" screen.
Press the "X" button to save the changes. The console runs an automatic test with the new settings and then returns you to the main screen after the test is complete.
