How to Add Standard Infrared Control to the PlayStation 3

While the PlayStation 3 game console includes a number of wireless communication features, including Bluetooth and WiFi, it does not offer support for standard infrared signal reception, which is often used for universal, DVD and BluRay remote controls. However, the game accessory company Nyko offers a solution with its BluWave remote and USB infrared receiver. This controller features all standard buttons from the PS3's SIXAXIS controller and allows for playback control from up to 25 feet away.
