"Zombies" mode
"Zombies" mode was first introduced in "Call of Duty: World At War" and was again included in "Call of Duty: Black Ops." In "Zombies," up to four players must survive waves of zombies using the weapons and items found on each level. Zombies mode is infinite, with the objective being to get to a high level and accrue a large score. In both games, it is a separate mode outside of both the single player campaign and the standard multiplayer modes. You can get the "Zombies" maps from "World at War" into "Black Ops": purchase a special edition version of the game or download them from the PlayStation Network.
"Black Ops" Special Editions
"Black Ops" had three versions available for purchase at the launch of the game: the regular edition, the Hardened edition and the Prestige edition. Among the other bonuses found in the two special editions was a one-time use code allowing you to download the four "World at War" "Zombies" maps for use with "Black Ops." However, as these special editions were available only when "Black Ops" released, it is difficult to find a Hardened or Prestige edition in stores. As the code is a one-time use code, buying either edition used may result in the code already used, so most gamers must purchase the maps from the PlayStation Store. You can redeem your code from within the PlayStation Store.
Rezurrection Map Pack
The final "Black Ops" map pack, released on September 22, 2011, was the Rezurrection map pack. This map pack included maps only for the "Zombies" game mode. In addition to a brand new "Zombies" map titled "Moon," the four "World at War" "Zombies" maps were included as well: "Nacht der Üntoten," "Verrückt," "Shi No Numa" and "Der Riese." At the time of publication, the Rezurrection map pack costs $14.99 to download and is only available digitally through the PlayStation Store, accessible on the PlayStation 3's main menu.
Playing the Maps
Once the maps have been downloaded and installed to your PlayStation 3's hard drive, they're accessible from within "Black Ops." After selecting "Zombies" on the "Black Ops" main menu, you're presented with a list of maps that includes all four "World at War" maps. However, to play these maps online, every player must have purchased and downloaded the maps or they won't be available to play.
