How to Make a Dynamic PS3 Background

The Sony PlayStation 3 Xross Media Bar, or XMB, is a customizable menu interface system. The font, menu icons, sound effects and background images that make up the XMB can be edited using an official Sony application. The creation of dynamic themes, however, requires an unofficial Windows application. Existing PlayStation 3 dynamic themes are edited with the Dynamic Theme Editor program to create new animated backgrounds. Dynamic background asset files are unique and can only be opened and edited with Adobe Photoshop.
