Tips on Gladiator for PS3 Motion

The "Gladiator" sport that comes with the "Sports Champions" PlayStation Move game tasks players with fighting their way through three tournaments: the "Bronze Cup," "Silver Cup" and "Gold Cup." Each tournament is more difficult than the last, and completing the "Gold Cup" tournament will require some advanced maneuvers. With a few tips and the right moves, however, reaching the end of each tournament will be much easier.
  1. Shield Bash

    • As your "Gladiator" opponents get more difficult, he will begin to blow more frequently and more effectively. To get an attack in against a particularly stingy foe, use the shield bash maneuver. The shield bash is unblockable and it knocks your opponent off balance, allowing you to get past their defenses. To use the shield bash, press and hold the "T" button on the PlayStation Move controller and thrust the controller forward.

    Stop Opponent's Attack

    • If you are facing an enemy that is attacking you non-stop, it can seem impossible to halt their barrage of attacks. But, if you are quick enough, you can "parry" away an opponent's strike. While your opponent is in mid-swing, thrust the PlayStation Move controller towards your opponent for a quick jab. If timed correctly, your character will jab at your opponent, interrupting their attack and allowing you to retaliate.

    C-Swing

    • If your opponent is blocking all of your attacks and the shield bash is too cumbersome, you can use a "C-swing" to get past your opponent's defenses. Start the C-swing by raising the PlayStation Move controller to about your shoulder level. Then, swing the Move controller in a backwards C motion from your shoulder to your knee. When you use this type of swing, your opponent will attempt to block high but will often be too slow to block to low attack.

    Ground Strikes

    • If you manage to knock your opponent on the ground, you do not have to stand idly by as he gets back up. Instead, you can attack him while he is vulnerable. Approach the opponent while he is on the ground and thrust the PlayStation Move controller towards him to jab at him. Alternatively, raise the Move controller above your head to perform a jump attack that targets the fallen enemy.
