How to Play MTS Across a Network on the PS3

When the PlayStation 3 game console launched in 2006, the number of file types it was able to play was limited. Through subsequent firmware updates, however, Sony added to the list of file types the PS3 supports. This list now includes AVCHD files, including M2TS and MTS files. You can play these types of files over a network, but only using a media server application.

Scroll down to "Network Settings" and press "X."

    • 3

Highlight "Media Server Connection," press "X" and then select "Enabled." The PS3 can now connect to a media server application.
