How to Go to OFW on a PS3

System Software

  Start the PS3 or press the "PS" button on the controller to access the XMB.

  Highlight Settings using the controller and press the "X" button.

  Select System Settings and then System Information. A list of information is displayed about your PS3. The current firmware version is listed next to "System Software."

System Update

  Access the XMB and select Settings.

  Select System Update and Update via Internet. If you are running the latest system software, a message appears informing you that you are up to date. If you need an update, the message reads "The latest update was found."

  Press "X" to continue to the user agreement.

  Push the right-arrow button and select Accept to agree to the user agreement. A warning message appears informing you not to turn off the PS3 during the update.

  Select Start to download and install the latest PS3 firmware. The PS3 may restart when the update is finished installing.
