Video Player
MultiMAN̵7;s built-in video player lets you view standard-definition files on your gaming system as well as transfer Blu-ray and Advanced Video Coding High Definition files directly to your PS3̵7;s hard drive for playing. The program̵7;s video player is capable of playing video files from an external hard drive, memory stick and memory card. MultiMAN is also capable of displaying JPEG and PNG image files and playing MPEG-3 and AC3 audio files.
Backup Utility
The program̵7;s backup utility lets you make an exact copy of your purchased PS3 discs. The backup utility is not designed to make multiple copies of your discs for distribution purposes or other illegal activity. MultiMAN̵7;s backup utility includes a step-by-step user interface, a copy/backup progress bar and the ability to restore backup files from an external hard drive to your PS3̵7;s internal hard drive.
Additional Features
MultiMAN also lets you install themes and play background music on your PS3 as well as play games with others via a PlayStation Portable and other gaming systems/devices that are compatible with your PS3. The program includes a built-in update feature that downloads and installs program patches and add-on tools. MultiMAN also lets you send commands, including screenshot, quit, restart, pause and resume, using a Telnet communication program and accessing port 8080 on your PS3.
Requirements
MultiMAN runs on any PS3 that contains custom firmware, or CFW. CFW is a third-party download that lets you add features to your PS3 that are not part of the gaming system̵7;s original system software. CFW is available online, installs via a USB hard drive or memory stick and also allows you to install the Linux operating system on to your PS3.
