How to Get Rid of Network Errors on PS3 Home

Network errors on your Playstation 3 game console can stop you from playing head-to-head against other players on the Playstation Network and enjoying online video content from Netflix, Hulu and the NFL network. Reconfigure your network connection to get rid of any errors you may be experiencing with your console's networking hardware. If the problems persist, reset your PS3's system to the factory operating condition to get your network connections back in working order.

  Turn on the PS3 and your TV. Scroll to the "Settings" option in the PS3 menu that appears. Press "X." Scroll to the "Network" option and press "X." Scroll to the "Yes" option and press "X" to end your connection to the Internet and reset the configuration.

  Highlight the "Wireless" option and press "Enter." Highlight the "Scan" option and press "Enter" to search for networks in range of the PS3.

  Scroll to the name of your wireless network in the list of available networks and press "Enter." Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the wireless password for your network and press "X" to connect to your network.

  Reset your PS3 system to factory condition if your network errors persist. Highlight the "Settings" option in the PS3 home menu and press "X." Select the "System Settings" option and press "X." Scroll to the "Restore PS3 System" option and press "X." Highlight the "Restore" option in the prompt that appears and press "X" to restore your system to factory condition.
