Error Code ̶0;80029940̶1;
Some users have reported receiving the error code ̶0;80029940̶1; when using a Netflix access disc. To resolve this issue, check the disc for scratches or dirt, and clean the disc with a soft, damp cloth if needed. If you continue to receive this message, you may need to order a new disc from Netflix or download the Netflix app to your PS3.
Internet Connection
The PS3 requires an active Internet connection to connect to Netflix. Navigate to the ̶0;Settings̶1; tab on the XrossMediaBar and follow the steps to select ̶0;Network Settings.̶1; Select your wired or wireless connection from the menu and check your modem to verify connectivity to your PS3.

High levels of Internet traffic from your area or through Netflix may cause your PS3 to experience problems when using the application. Wait a few moments and try to connect to Netflix again.
Date and Time
Netflix requires that your PS3 be updated to the most recent date. The date is automatically set each time your PS3 connects to the PlayStation Network, but can also be set manually. Select the ̶0;Settings̶1; menu from the XMB and select ̶0;Date and Time Settings̶1; and finally ̶0;Date and Time.̶1; Choose the ̶0;Set Manually̶1; option, and enter the current date and time with the ̶0;X̶1; button on your controller.
Reinstall Netflix
If your PS3 continues to crash after launching Netflix, delete the app and reinstall it. Select the ̶0;Video̶1; option from the XMB and select ̶0;Netflix̶1; from the menu. Press the ̶0;Triangle̶1; button to open the options menu, and select ̶0;Delete.̶1; The Netflix icon will still be visible after you delete the app. Select the ̶0;Netflix̶1; icon and choose the ̶0;Install̶1; option.
