      Download the 3.41 firmware revision from an online source and save to the desktop.

      Insert a USB flash drive into a free USB port on your computer and click on its name under "My Computer" to open it.

      Create a new folder named "PS3" in the flash drive. Double click on the folder, then enter a new subfolder called "UPDATE." Capitalization is necessary.

      Copy and paste the downloaded firmware file into the "UPDATE" folder. Remove the flash drive from the computer and plug it into a free USB port on the PS3.

      Scroll to the "Settings" option, represented by the toolbox icon. Move to the "System Update" option, then press the "X" button.

      Choose "Update via Storage Media" and press "X" to start the update.
