How to Make the Seagate GoFlex Desk Compatible With a PS3

The Seagate GoFlex Desk is a line of external hard drives with capacities ranging from one to four terabytes. You can use your GoFlex Desk as an external hard drive for your PlayStation 3, but you must format it to FAT32. Windows will not format drives larger than 32 GB using the FAT32 file system, so you̵7;ll need to use the Seagate Disk Wizard software supplied with the drive.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the GoFlex Desk to your computer with the drive's USB cable.

    • 2

Click the "Start" button and right-click on "Computer."

    • 3

Select "Disk Management" and verify that Windows detects the drive.

    • 4

Open the Seagate Disk Wizard software and select "Add New Drive."

    • 5

Select the GoFlex Desk and click "Next."

    • 6

Select the unallocated space and click "Next."

    • 7

Choose "FAT32" and click "Next." Choose the partition size and click "Next."

    • 8

Type a name for the drive and click "Next." The software will display a confirmation screen. Verify your choices and click "Next."

    • 9

Click "Proceed" to format the drive.

    • 10

Click the "Start" button and select "Computer." The GoFlex Desk will appear under "Devices with Removable Storage."

    • 11

Open the new drive and right-click an empty area. Select "New" and choose "Folder." Name the new folder "Photo." Repeat this step and create folders named "Video" "Music" and "Games."
