DualShock Controller
The DualShock 3 controller is bundled with all PlayStation 3 consoles and may be purchased individually. The DualShock 3 controller features a total of eight buttons, two analog sticks and a directional pad, and it utilizes Sony̵7;s six-axis motion-controlled technology. The DualShock 3 controller also features a built-in rechargeable battery.
USB Cable
The DualShock 3 controllers use a USB Mini B cable to connect to a charging station. The standard USB end can be plugged into any standard USB port and the Mini B connector plugs into the back of the controller. This cord is bundled with all DualShock controllers but may also be purchased at electronics retailers.
Dual Shock 3 Drivers
Drivers allow your computer to recognize the presence of hardware and software on your computer. The PlayStation 3 comes preloaded with the DualShock 3 drivers. Unlike other USB devices, the DualShock 3 drivers will not automatically download and install onto your computer after being connected. There are several programs available, such as Total Game Control and MotioninJoy, that can mimic the DualShock 3 drivers on your PC.
32-Bit Windows Operating System
The DualShock 3 drivers are only compatible with a 32-Bit Windows operating system such as Windows Vista, XP and Server 2003. Newer operating systems, such as Windows 7, cannot process the 32-Bit DualShock 3 drivers and will prevent you from using the controller on your computer.
