How to Install AsbestOS Installer on a PS3 Slim via USB

AsbestOS is a Linux-based operating system you can install on a jailbroken Sony PlayStation 3 Slim, i.e., a console with a third-party operating system installed. Installing AsbestOS will allow you to use your PlayStation 3 as a Linux workstation. To install AsbestOS, you will also need the Lvl 2 Patcher file and the primary Linux.img file.

Instructions

  Connect your USB drive to an available port on your computer. Click ̶0;Start̶1; and ̶0;My Computer.̶1;

  Open your USB drive and copy the AsbestOS installation file to it.

  Copy the Linux.img file and paste it into the root directory of your USB drive. Perform the same operation for the Lvl 2 Patcher file.

  Remove the USB drive from your computer, plug it into your PlayStation 3 Slim and turn it on.

  Copy all three files to your PlayStation 3 Slim.

  Run the AsbestOS installation file and select the root directory of your PlayStation 3 Slim as the installation destination. AsbestOS will now install on your PlayStation 3.

  Open the Lvl 2 Patcher file and select ̶0;Linux̶1; when prompted. Restart your PlayStation 3 Slim when the installation completes.

  Login using the username ̶0;ps3̶1; and enter the password ̶0;ps3.̶1; Linux is now installed on your PlayStation 3 Slim.
