How to Hook Up a PS3 to a TV Using Regular Cords

Technology has shifted into the high definition age, and video games are following suit. Most video game consoles have the capability to be played on high definition televisions, using special cables to hook them up. However, using the standard cords most people are used to, it is possible to hook up your PlayStation 3 to almost any TV, without the need for high definition cables.

  Check to make sure you have the regular A/V cable that came with the PlayStation 3. This cable has the traditional red, white and yellow connectors at the end.

  Plug the black end of the cable into the third slot on the back of the PlayStation 3.

  Plug the other end of the cable into the matching red, white and yellow slots on your television set.

  Turn on the TV, and set the display to the matching input where you connected the A/V cable. For example, if the slots you plugged the cable into say "Input 1" above or below them, set your TV to "Input 1" using your remote control.
