How to Figure Out a PS3 Port Number

The PlayStation 3 can connect to the Internet, allowing you to play games online, browse the Web and connect to the PlayStation Network. If you are having trouble with your Internet connection, the PS3 has a built-in Internet Connection Test that will display information such as the port number being used. The PS3 connects to the Internet through a specific port so that it can communicate with other Internet devices.

     Press the "Power" button on the PlayStation 3 to turn it on.

     Use the controller to scroll to the "Settings" menu on the XMB bar on the PlayStation 3 home screen.

     Use the controller to scroll down to "Network Settings."

     Use the controller to scroll right to "Internet Connection Test." Start the test and wait for the results.

     Use the controller to scroll down the list of results to find the port numbers.
