How to Get Rid of Dust on a PS3 Slim

You can remove stray dust particles on the surface of your PlayStation 3 Slim using a microfiber cloth. Like the original PS3, it also features a fan test mode that can remove loose dust from inside the console. When you activate fan test mode, all of the system fans turn on at once, blowing dust around inside the unit and out the ventilation holes.

Instructions

      Turn your PS3 Slim completely off.

      Clear the ventilation slots with a microfiber cloth

      Unplug the console.

      Hold down the "Eject" button and plug the power cable back in.

      Release the "Eject" button. After approximately five to 10 seconds seconds, the fans inside the PS3 Slim will turn on, blowing internal dust through the ventilation ports on the back. The process lasts approximately 15 seconds.

      Wipe off any excess dust with the microfiber cloth.
