Things You'll Need
Instructions
Unplug the console and move it to an uncarpeted area to reduce the risk of damage from static electricity. Touch a metal object before beginning to work on the console to remove any static charge from your hands.
Remove the warranty sticker from the left side of the console. Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the rubber foot from underneath this sticker. Use your torx screwdriver to remove the screw underneath the foot to loosen the case top. Slide the case top to the left and lift up to remove it.
Unscrew the seven Phillips-head screws from the top of the console. Place them safely aside so you don't lose them. Pry the top of the console off gently by pulling the back corners up.
Remove the five screws holding down the power supply. The power supply is the smaller silver box.
Lift the power supply from the case and locate the fuse on the back of the supply. Gently remove the old fuse and discard it. Insert the new fuse into the fuse slot and listen for a click.
Reassemble the console by replacing the five screws on the power supply. Place the PS3 cover on top of the case and replace the seven top screws. Slide the outer cover back into place and replace the torx screw.
