How to Hook Up a PS3 to a PC Without a Router

Online games always work best when using a wired connection, as is the case when dealing with the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3). If you want to make sure that you have the least amount of latency delay in your games, then hooking up your PS3 through a computer can be your answer. The process is fairly simple and straight forward. Setting up the computer and PS3 can be accomplished in just a few minutes.

Things You'll Need

Computer with 2 network cards
Ethernet cable

  Click "Start" and "Control Panel" on your computer. Select "Network and Sharing Center" from the list.

  Click "Change adapter settings" from the menu on the left of the window. Highlight both adapters using the computer's mouse. Right click on the highlighted adapters and select "Bridge Connections."

  Plug an Ethernet cable into the open port on the back of the computer. Plug the other end of the cable into the port on the back of the PS3.

  Turn on the PS3 and login to your account. The PS3 will login to the Internet using the connection from the computer.
