How to Beat the Spiders in LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 for PlayStation 3

In the fifth level of Year 2 in "LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4," an action-adventure PlayStation 3 (PS3) game released in June 2010, you must control Harry, Ron and Fang as they follow spiders from Hagrid's Hut. Aptly named "Follow the Spiders," the trio come across a gigantic brown spider named Aragog and you must defeat him to advance the story further. Beating Aragog requires defeating little spiders that appear all around you during the fight.

Instructions

  Play through "Follow the Spiders" until you come across Aragog, initiating battle.

  Avoid the web Aragog shoots at you. If you get caught in a web, you become immobilized and attacked by the little spiders that appear. Press "Triangle" to switch to another character, and press "Square" to free yourself from the web.

  Press "Square" at all of the little spiders to zap them. Because they are small, one hit will defeat them instantly. Continue zapping spiders until you see a black and purple spider appear.

  Hold "R1" to open your spell wheel, and select "Wingdarium Leviosa" as your active spell. Press "X" at the black and purple spider once, causing it to fall onto its head.

  Hold "X" to raise the upside-down spider, spin it and throw it at Aragog, damaging it.

  Repeat Steps 3 through 5 two more times. Hitting Aragog with three spiders fully depletes his health bar, ending the battle.
